From what I've seen battlers just get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to getting credit for writing open mics. I wouldn't rank any battler in the top 10 open mic writers. They can drop nice pieces, but they're usually not of the type of depth and complexity that makes a top tier writers verse as good as it is. People just see a recognized battlers name and give props. I've read archives of top battlers and their strength is swag pieces or disses. I think the running idea on this site that battlers transition to open mics easier than vice versa is just a fallacy with a lot of confirmation bias.
