i don't think they would let them if they were willing too
the nfl also does the split screen commercials, but they still have long commercials too. usually run the split screen during short timeouts, be it a quick one to prevent a delay of game or one to just stop the clock during two minute drills but still super long breaks for change of possession and end of quarters etc
