this was not flagged (would prob be a lifetime suspension in the nfl):

I think you'll enjoy the AAFL greatly.

uh-oh 02-10-2019 11:07 AM

lmao dope

after googling that guys name i found a highlight vid of the game bout to watch now

Zaddy 02-10-2019 11:16 AM

When does XFL come back?

uh-oh 02-10-2019 11:28 AM

here is the other game. garvin balled out. 2 picks and one went for 6

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnuG1wyRkjk

the xfl comes back in 2020, allegedly. but like the aafl, they've done little in the way of promoting it

i'm a huge football fan and didn't know this was happening until after the fact. outside of a random commercial here and there that basically was just "aafl 2019" i seen NOTHING. also random articles of coaches being hired. but yea i heard nothing about this until this morning after the fact

im about to look through rosters for familiar names and try to find a squad to root for lol

uh-oh 02-10-2019 11:34 AM

after skimming rosters im only super familiar with jalin marshall cuz osu of course. guess he got the first TD in the league, its in that second video.

josh woodrum is on salt lake too tho, and i only know him from the ravens but he was ridiculously solid, although lacking NFL arm talent. but his decision making and accuracy flashed in preseason games when i watched him. i wish him well.

edit- also nick orr is a BEAST. didn't see much of him in those highlights, but again he's a defender so if he didn't get a pick or force a fumble it ain't gonna be in a highlight reel. zach orr's brother. followed him through twitter during his collegiate career. forgot about him though, gonna look into why he ain't in the NFL now

uh-oh 02-10-2019 11:40 AM

aight so nick orr went undrafted to the bears

all i'm finding is this TERRIBLE call in my hometown against my team lol

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ka2_pIw5B4

they cut him after the preseason.

its pretty dope there is a league for these guys to put more on tape though and get more opportunities

Chill Phil 02-10-2019 12:16 PM

What is the AAFL?

uh-oh 02-10-2019 12:19 PM

alliance of american football league

another new attempt at a professional football league basically, running now when the NFL isn't.

Diode 02-10-2019 12:39 PM

this is back by cbs and promoted by the nfl/cbs though as a feeder league, unlike the XFL which is probably already dead before it began.

DMS 02-10-2019 01:13 PM

It’s dope, a little sloppier but still fun to watch.
I dislike the safety/onside kick rules but that’s about it.

DMS 02-12-2019 02:47 PM

The NFL straight up hosting these games in there network and posting highlight vids

They should make this into a minor league system like baseball has

bleak 02-12-2019 03:13 PM

I think that's the idea. It offers an alternative that isn't the XFL so it kills that before it even has a chance, as if it did beforehand anyways.

reminds me of the old European league. What was most dope about it was the lack of Commercials. I only caught the second half of the SD game.....but they seemed like the commercial breaks were like 30 seconds long and some were even done while the game was still being televised on a split screen. I dug it. Will watch again. If you're a college football fan it was cool seeing a bunch of those players getting some game action. I really hated Mike Berkavicci when he was at ASU, so it was nice watching him get decleated.

Gives young guys a platform to show their skills, more legit than the CFL or AFL obv. I could probably see guys getting a lot of tryouts off this

word. A lot of them were on NFL practice squads this past season.

The Dead Poet 02-12-2019 05:09 PM

I guess put it this way. Mike Berkavicci got lit the FUCK UP. He's making 250,000 dollars for whatever their season runs. He got up and didn't miss one play after that hit. Imagine if any NFL qb would get up after that and keep playing. Doubt it.

uh-oh 02-12-2019 05:44 PM

i don't think they would let them if they were willing too

the nfl also does the split screen commercials, but they still have long commercials too. usually run the split screen during short timeouts, be it a quick one to prevent a delay of game or one to just stop the clock during two minute drills

but still super long breaks for change of possession and end of quarters etc

That old european league was entertaining
