It was never about setting a trap. All we ever wanted to do was rap. Didn't even expect anybody to clap.

As long as we weren't hated. Nothing wrong with being creative. Adding another song to the playlist.

The off-white lampshade sat on the desk. Getting something that I had off my chest.

I said poems, whilst donning all-black headphones, in need of a metronome.

Tonight I seemed to have all this time. Tomorrow, back to work, back to the grind.

Maybe I just don't know what life is. Everyone seems to have a wife; kids. Just hoping in the struggle that I might win.

But my life isn't special. I don't need to share it.. I don't need a marriage. So, no rings with carats.

I don't need to search for any purpose. Although not perfect, living life seems to be worth it.

I remember back in the day when I would freestyle intently. Sometimes it was kind of crazy, but I don't think it spent me. I wish I'd win the lotto, or be able to live rent-free.

I remember back in the day when I would get high all the time. Sure, I miss it. I'm an ex-smoker, but today I bummed a cigarette.
