But between Reagan Democrats and quasi tea party anti establishment Republicans not wanting to align with the base I really think this could be the time for a few independents to sneak into local and national representative bodies

Though now that you're making me think of it both would probably just be as Republicans and do what you said. Saw some poll that had millennial democratic socialists against higher taxes on themselves btw... Lol
