To assume all "Humans" pronounce the word BACK-GROUND as BACK-ROUND is even more stupid. I for the most part can definitely HEAR the "G" when pronouncing the word BACK-GROUND.

The reason why the G would be less prominent is because the CK and it is 1 word as oppose to Back Down in which is 2 words and why the D is more prominent. Terrible example, if you ask me.
