Being an adult means losing safety nets and the walls closing in. Opportunities dwindle and denials pile up until you're lying to your own face or stinging from all the self realizations, possibly both. But what is life without happiness? What you thought you knew is no more, so you create new philosophies and ideas (denials) about things so you can not hate yourself. Or maybe you're just learning? Getting (denying) more wise.

I used to think people got better with age. They don't. More 'successful'? Maybe. But better? No. It's a jungle out here and it fucks you up.
