As a person who has owned and shot most of the shit listed in here, dependability in your home is important, if you pull the trigger and it goes bang, that's all you need. Now if you're in the field where elements and mother nature come into play, then corrosion resistance, metal alloy quality, action, number of moving parts, all that plays a major role in longevity in a weapon. I've owned a Hi Point 9mm along side a browning 9mm and they both have held up, I wouldn't compare the two by a long shot as far as quality goes, but they both have gone bang when I needed them too.
