Honestly, go to a range and try a bunch of different guns in a bunch of different calibers
I hate Glocks. The Ruger SR9 and SR45 are fucking dope, simple and cheap guns. I do like the P226 as well especially the single/ double action shit Beretta's are real nice as well, they have a good weight to them Don't go super compact
