I must have missed the part where they said "usually cannot be stopped by anything on Earth".

It's a drill, clearly half the video was people making up what it could be. The project manager, who knows a lot more about this than you, was suggesting that it could be an old locomotive.

So where do you pull "usually cannot be stopped by anything on Earth" from his description?

It can be stopped for the simple reason its like 100million dollar machine .. which they do not want to ruin .. so for them to push it through boulders or old ships(boats) or w/e is down there would be hazardous to the profits ..

because they can drill through almost anything on Earth. Phil Schneider helped develop the technology behind these, you know, the guy that knows more about these than you do. Anywho, the project manager for all you know could be wrong with his (umm be sure to note the key word here) "suggestion". Of course you'd have a few folks give there opinion on the matter no doubt. Fact of the matter is that something stronger than steel and huge to boot is obscuring this behemoth of a device from digging any further.
