the problem with social justice and feminism is that so many ppl online use it as mask to lash out social groups they don't like. ie. many women who angry with men use it to bash males, genderqueer ppl will villify straight ppl, etc. under the guise of fighting equality, when really that isn't equality it's just lashing out.

As a guy that knows quite a lot of gays and political feminists/activists in general on most sides of the socialist coin I'm with you on this. Edit: Just realized something as well. Feminist activism in the US seems to be quite different from how it works and is put to practice in Norway, so I probably shouldn't join the convo as I don't know exactly how different it is. But the sane/majority of people probably share the same mindset.

The fundamental ideology behind feminism is complete equality between men and women. It started as a movement for women due to the extreme inequality that reigned back in the day but the main drive and goal was always equal treatment towards both genders.

Just like politics it got different branches to it though so it's easy to get confused when people claim ''yay, feminism is winning'' and showcasing a man getting beat up by a woman when that's actually stepping away from it. That's not what a true feminist would want. For me the important part is to push for equality (while also acknowledging the biological differences in men and women) and say ''wait a minute, you're fucking up'' if someone choose to push for one gender as opposed to find a solution that works for both.
