There's people living off of video gaming tho'. Some people make their entire earnings of youtube vids alone doing nothing but throwing out video game content, some of which are grown men in their 30's. Also, if I'm not mistaken the people that won the DotA 2 tournament this year won about 2.2 million dollars or something like that. There's sponsored people that goes to tournaments every now and then in different games and gets paid for doing it if they advertise different brands by using their t-shirts n shit and if they win in these ''high profile'' tournaments they get more money on top of it as well. It might be sad, but you can definitely make a living by playing video games if you're good enough at it.

Shit's mad complicated. CS 1.6 tournaments etc. you have no chance in a CS tournament unless you've played that stuff A SHITLOAD for at least two-three years, same thing goes for Starcraft I guess. There's definitely talent and skill involved, and it can definitely get you somewhere.

You're lucky cuz you get games before others, it's definitely easier to get followers that way and if you're a good/interesting talker with a great mic and top notch pc; Damn, you're set! You got to stand out in the crowd if you want a successful gaming channel. So far early Game Grumps, Pewdiepie and Robbaz is the only channels I can think of that can make gameplay of anything and completely suck at the game while doing it and still get views and shitload of ad revenue cuz they're entertaining or something.

You need something special to make it, talking and people/group control skills (don't know if you'd consider this a talent) is definitely needed to make it work and you need to work yourself up the chain as well and create yourself as a brand and sell it well. Not everyone get to be youtube partners either.

Fuck, I'm strongly considering starting a youtube channel tbh. I don't do much other than skate, maybe party in the weekends and play videogames. I mean, what's the difference from that and just turning on fraps and talk some bs? Fuck, I might actually do this shit. Wouldn't hurt to get extra 20-40$ a month if I'd manage to get it that far, in my book that's a little bit more weed for me.
