You got to stand out in the crowd if you want a successful gaming channel. So far early Game Grumps, Pewdiepie and Robbaz is the only channels I can think of that can make gameplay of anything and completely suck at the game while doing it and still get views and shitload of ad revenue cuz they're entertaining or something.
You need something special to make it, talking and people/group control skills (don't know if you'd consider this a talent) is definitely needed to make it work and you need to work yourself up the chain as well and create yourself as a brand and sell it well. Not everyone get to be youtube partners either.

man cats like tubuscus and them suck at it rofl and bro it isnt that hard i got two channels partnered where i make 2 or more dollars ery thousand videos. it is all bout putting it out there. twitter and tumblr and facebook can make u get a good amount of views not no celebrity level but shit u dont need that to make good money off it
