To be fair he did write plenty, and was a virtuosic pianist but most of his compositions are average. He has a few killer pieces but most if his catalogue isn't at the level it's thought to be. Still overly-revered imo

I agree on overly revered. A man who had at no point any music education whatsoever wrote master piece after master piece in his sleep. He was establhised to be a human wonderkind, a human god among men. an idol and that is how we look upon him today...mozart could do no wrong...

I have evidence and strong reason to belive he wrote nothing of vaule...all his great works are attributed to him...but that's just me....hit me up for more info on hm...it's crazy deep

and at everybody saying that the death of pac biggie etc. killed hip-hop, you're an idiot. look at all the pioneers that are still alive, who would be revered with the same sort of martyrdom if they had died before the decline of conscious hip-hop. the god rakim, wu-tang, kool herc, KRS, Afrika bambaataa, scarface.. shit even fat joe or cam'ron (who were right alongside those who passed).. have they "saved" hip hop from what its become?

what the fuck would tupac, pun, big L or biggie have said or done to preserve it moreso than the above mentioned artists? not a fucking thing. obviously we would all have more dope music to listen to from these dudes and they would have lived out their natural lives to voice their opinion on the industry. but so what? hip hop as a genre would be no different.

You just need to look in the underground. K-Rino, RA the rugged man, Masta Ace, etc. So many dope rappers keeping it going, it's just hard to find them.
