@Aero who do you invest with? I'm a pretty conservative investor (mostly etfs and stocks with dividends) but I've seen steady gains over the past two years. What do you do "aggressively?"
I invest in stocks price range of $1 - $10, with at least 100m market capitalization, and some type of catalyst that will drive the price higher in near future. I invest with Schwab.

Investing in stocks w dividends is good bc one you get a dividend and two the company can afford to pay dividends. They tend to be less volatile though which means ur probably not going to see huge percentage gains. Exchange traded funds are fairly new but they make a lot of sense. You can buy a mutual fund that acts like a stock that's perfect.

The street.com/under10 is a good place to see good lower priced stocks.
