I’ve read the champ battle. Here’s the thing.

- There was no clear winner to me
- The verses are very long, so it would take me a long time to analyze them more thoroughly to determine who I really thought took it, but
- I honestly found both verses an absolute fucking chore to read through even once and I have no desire to reread either of them more closely

So, I don’t know what to do with that.

Both are great writers in general and certainly I consider both to be better than I am so I hope they don’t take this the wrong way, but it is what it is.

Frank was technically impressive as ever but the content was boring af to me this week. I have Z E R O interest in hair styling. And the ending was just like oh ok I’m at 60 lines now I guess I’m done?

NYC’s story was more engaging but still not exactly gripping. I struggled with keeping up with who’s POV he was writing from. Ending was weird? And rhymes seemed forced a lot of the time.

Overall, Frank’s writing was better, but NYC’s piece was more engaging. I don’t know what’s more important to me.

We don't have writers here... We have self absorbed bloggers. We have tourists. I've dropped more votes while SIGNED OUT than most of the people that have been here for 3 months... combined.

My project X piece got one response and it was the best verse of the year. This shit is standard for topical leagues unless you have more exceptional people like myself, Adverse, and sraL who give their time to other people and enjoy writing votes and reviews because it is just another form of WRITING.

Anyway, the Champ match is 3-2... close it. What's the problem here? You closed my Champ match at 2-1... You've had mine and dead man's pieces gathering dust in the archives for DAYS now and they are the two best verses of the week.

I fail to see the issue here. This is nothing new. Move it along.

I've felt this way so many times about text matches in the writing leagues.
I don't feel like making a detailed criticism of both verses, of why I didn't like either verse, that could make both parties feel pretty bad. And who was less bad? And longgggg.

@Universe props man your votes are sometimes the highlight of the friggin link. And I may have skimmed that verse you mentioned that you said was the best of the season but I will give it a proper read this weekend.

I've only peeped about 2-3 weeks out of these 15.
I've realized I don't even like topical writing.Or traditional battle verses.
Just wanna write a few songs.

I'm not an elitist just reading dead man and Universe. And earlier Dominate & Eviction. When I'm more free I will try to catch up on reading some more weeks of everyone.
I did read this Frank-NYC champ match.
Both great rhymers but both could come up with way better material. Sorry, I don' t have a winner so Rock better explain his vote.
