I think you hit the nail on the head... it's so hard to defend and everyone is so motivated. But I think it doesn't really matter if your technically proficient because people just want to be entertained - especially if you are going 80 lines plus. I think your verse was a lot clearer and read easier. I knew after I read it that you had me beat in the smooth read department and probably several others lol. Well done.

I got too deep, plain and simple. Lesson learned. Shoulda stuck with the popcorn superhero gimmick that everyone liked lol.
