The fairest thing I can think of is that as it was a last minute fill-in, the no-showed battler (in this case Universe) gets a battle and saves them wasting a verse. If they win, they get a win.
The fill-in, however, (me in this scenario) should be able to steal a win (if they pull it off) but not have the prospect of a loss as it’s very short notice they’re expected to fill in (this would encourage more people to step up to the plate last minute as it’s essentially a win/win for them even if they lose). It will also get the original battler in the match, that did show, to potentially still write a solid enough verse knowing they could potentially face an unexpected opponent if no-showed. This is the fairest and most productive method I can think to exercise in these situations (providing someone is willing to step up and write in the short time frame). Let me know what you think. |
