We’ll have self driving cars first. Those are not so far away. Amazon is already trailing self driving trucks.
The proposal is to finance the UBI with a ‘value added tax’ (VAT), not an income tax. Basically every other country has a VAT already. It applies to ‘luxury items’ but not basic necessities. So you’d pay an extra 10% for your new computer but not for your groceries or rent or electricity.
