cool man but elaborate for me. like what does working with entail, what is it you do, what is the goal, etc.

i assume its a more tangible thing than therapy for example, where they basically just try to get you to blame all your problems on your upbringing/parents, relieving you of the guilt that you should feel from your own life choices. but its a simple bandaid/release for those lost souls who believe they feel better because someone told them what they wanted to hear, and they have to go back because no one can lie to themselves. so its a racket

but i mean what do psychologists do. i guess i could google it but i'd rather hear your like day to day. like its a monday and you arrive at work...

Ok cool. Monday morning...arrive at 0630 ready for whatever. Probably a bunch of admissions over the weekend. Do Intake assessments, write my part of their treatment plans. Go to treatment team. Group therapy. Do group notes. Lunch (gym) afternoon talk to families and set up discharges and talk to clients. This does not include the myriad de-escalations and god forbid tussles we have to get into when they show out and we have to give them an injection of medicine. Try to leave by 3

so its basically like when someone is a nutjob or a harm to themselves and others its your job to talk them back to sanity?

Yes. Literally. At least temporarily. It is as much an art as it is a science brother. I can de escalate about 90 percent and the ten percent are often already escalated too far by the time o get there. It’s like once a man gets past the do not cross line....momentum takes them.

send me a bunch of questions and i will answer them completely honestly. like is there some evaluation process for just random people? or is that more psychiatrist shit? also you must not report me to the authorities if im a psychopath/sociopath. i don't think i am cuz that pesky empathy nonsense that plagues me but hey who knows.
