I assume the bell symbolizes the moment the change occurs, though I’m just assuming
I just typed that all out by heart though, and haven’t been to church in 20+ years.

Yes, it's metaphorical and symbolic but we see it for what it's supposed to represent.

That I get. Can't get more than 2 of my moms side of the family in a room without being proselytized to. I've just never heard of transubstanstiation being taken that literally before and I went vegetarian a little before I stopped going to church lol
