Is Kendrick Lamar the 2Pac of this generation??

Everyone saying it shouldn't be a comparison is wrong. They're rappers. Both are/were considered the best, or one of the best, rappers in mainstream rap during their era. Kendrick invites the comparison; TPAB has Tupac throughout the album, he references him in his music, and he most likely thinks that he has no competition in the current rap landscape and is competing against his predecessors now, namely Tupac. Both are "conscious" lyricists with an activist bent who's best songs are often prototypical gangster violence rap. People who say they shouldn't be compared just have trouble reconciling the nostalgia induced pedestal they've place Tupac on. It seems weird to compare one of the biggest names in a bygone era with a current artist, and it has a slight sacrilegious undertone since Tupac's death has put him in this weird deity-like strata in the rap world, but stylistically and culturally they should be compared.

Kendrick is better.
