How does one start writing again?

I found this site at a young(er) age, when my parents grounded me a lot, so I had plenty of free time to bullshit around online. Netcees was a definite outlet for both my creativity and adolescent angst (lollmao).

Thing is I don't write much anymore, and when I do I'm like ehhh kinda wack. It worked better when I didn't think about it.

But what are some things you guys do to maintain creative... discipline I guess..?

i dont write

but as far as making beats and being creative in general im 100 percent reliant on boredom.

well maybe 90 percent. sometimes in the morning i get the itch, but only when i know i have nothing going on. so its more of a ok my mindset is right, i want to GO IN. i can make some shit that is genius at this moment, i'm connected with the spirits type shit

of course it almost always ends in failure either way

but word i have to have nothing else at all to do. i'd rather play a video game i beat 10 years ago. i'd rather just wack off. i'd rather just go to the store. etc.

so word a good mixture of boredom and self delusion of your own greatness

i produce my best material in the twilight hours on the edge of consciousness in my head and it disappears as soon as i try to record it.

nothing i actually pen is as good.

it's futile. don't bother.

After over a year of not writing at all, I just wrote the smoothest 16 bars I've ever written.
For me, I can't force it... something has to happen to prompt an emotional response which then gets transferred into writing.

I listen to the kind of rap that inspires me to write better.
Like if I wanted to write complex bars I'd listen to Canibus. Or if I Wana write chopper lines I'd listen to King ISO and Tech 9. Listening to something to vibe with will get ur creative juices going again. And finding some dope beats also

Do you want to maintain ‘creativity’, or only think that perhaps you ‘should?’ Because if you’ve just been busy or not into writing for a while, the easiest way is to start doing the things that made you want to write and make you think about writing now. Is it listening to certain music? That’s usually what I use. It helps me remember what it is I appreciate about rhymes.

Its like I stall my self out trying to "perfect" the thing I'm writing. Lately I just freestyle in recording sessions, and it's cool because I don't think twice about what I'm doing.

Also the reason why I have never posted a thread like this asking for advice, just can't cause Amen typa guy would just come and be a dick, then you gotta decide whether you want to come back at him and in which way. (I.e. your fall back comment) Again I get other members may do this but most of them that do provide a certain type of entertainment here, laughter. Again you just being a dick.
