If you're a grown-up decent human on any level, you should want all of these bitch ass pseudo-thugs to get snitched on. The interrogation rooms are actually cold though. It's a technique to break people down. They make them physically uncomfortable, and then pound them with questions for hours until they break.

I prefer forensic files above all else, but I really like first 48 for the "real time," feel.
