Trivia: It's called Whiskey because the English bastardised the Irish phrase ''Uisce Beatha". Pronounced Ishkeh Bee-aha. Which translates to Water of Life. Ishkeh became Whisky as it was too sensitive to the colonising tongues.

This is very interesting. I always wondered why there was a difference in spelling. Scots spell it Whisky.
