It's the exploitation of the system that's the same. Whether you exploit the system to avoid paying money, or you exploit the system to give you money doesn't really matter. Both affect the bank account of the gov't, which is used to pay for publicly funded things. What's very hypocritical is that Trump says avoiding federal income tax is 'smart'. Well, that federal income tax goes toward funding veteran services. So Trump, who so brashly claims that the feds haven't done enough to support the vets, has been quite literally keeping money and services out of their (veterans) hands, for possibly up to 18 years now.

That, in my mind, is much worse (coming from someone who's worth an estimated 3.7 billion) than some people who'd rather be on welfare than work as a cashier at walmart.
