CHERISH 2016

Matt Freckingham directed Cherish, his second film, with Kerr Wykes. It is a claustrophobic descent into the world of torture porn, satanism, fetishes, and numerous other disgusting “genres”, if that’s what you want to call them. This short film comes in around twenty five minutes, an extremely long 25 minutes if you are not a fan of extreme cinema. I Liked the structure of the narrative and noticed a great improvement in the gore work from his last film. Like most films that mix gross porn with gore, this one also used a pretty cool soundtrack. Fans of the most brutal of a metal music will appreciate this dark decent into this depraved world. In the end, this film has shown me lots of improvement from the director’s first film. That’s good to see, even if some of the content is not what tends to be revisited by myself too often. So this review will come out like my reviews of Channel 309 and Beyond Madness, a memorable experience that may get the occasional re-watch. It is a film that you will need to see, however, if you are a fan of the two previously mentioned films.

lmao nah, thats my boys Matt and Kerr who i worked with on Turn Heel too

it was basically me, those two, our friend Dan Grainger and director Jason Impey (the director of the other short reviewed on that BTU page)

we're all good friends and work together on extreme horror film projects out here in the UK

Matt is always listed as director as they tend to start as his ideas before me and Kerr throw our hats in the ring and make the scene something else entirely lol

we're a team though and none of us really have any credits over the rest, Kerr prob puts in the most work behind the scenes in truth but im generally good for hyping up/marketing and selling numbers

we're happy with co-director titles on the credits but its essentially the three of us who come up with the sick shit between us

jason impey is the camera guy and he's directed a ton of horror related/porn craziness tbh

dan grainger is the actor/general stunt man and all around legend for letting us record in his house and spit fake blood everywhere and hit his lampshades with a live running chainsaw haha
