The point of that scene was to show that his 'fragile, decrepit old man' persona is ruse. The point of that ruse is for people to underestimate him, basically. Also to show the viewer that he's a player within the machinations of the show, due to his ability to connive.

@uh oh I'm pretty sure the horn was shown in the show? I can't remember specifically. But yeah the horn supposedly brings down the wall but it's not confirmed.
