I'm thinking about some other combinations that haven't worked together enough. Masta Ace and GZA could have put out the best album of 1997.

Not a duo....but slaughterhouse comes to mind.

My problem with Slaughterhouse is I have no interest in hearing Joell Ortiz or (Kxng) Crooked I ever do anything more than the occasional guest spot or freestyle, and Joe Budden has proven he only is good when he's grinding on mixtapes. When they got together at first, Slaughterhouse made sense. Now, Royce the 5'9" is way too good and way too celebrated for that.
