It's real to him but it's a different perspective. Tupac didn't grow up as rough and there's mad videos of him being soft in his early teenage acting career on youtube that are laughable when contrasted with his later persona but I respect both for being real and not being sociopaths. But yes I would agree DMX is on some real, came from the bottom drug addiction shit whereas Tupac was concered with socio-political concerns beyond his ken to the point where he believed in wack illuminati conspiracies etc. There's no illuminati just ultra-wealthy who keep it low key IMO (not on forbes even tho families r far richer and more powerful than buffet/gates etc). Rockefellers/Rothschilds come to mind. Tupac was obsessed with the satan worship black magic absurd, evil zombie apocalypse non existent element of it.

But yea props to both for being real people expressing themselves and growing into deeply damaged yet angry and powerful adults. Been running into lots of sociopaths these days yo. Glib, superficial charm, will to manipulate and control others, lies easily, lacks empathy, addiction personality etc. Fuck these people yo.
