aye im sorry if sometimes I don't make sense its just im trying to become a better writer and get to know everyone a bit better... its been a long time since I ever been close to anyone....my mom and dad Im really close to still but they are getting older and no time is passing by very quickly so I don't really know how much longer I can sustain this relationship with them which has really dragged me down the dumps and to be truthfully honest I don't even feel like seeing them anymore because it just reminds me that theyre going to go soon and it makes me very depressed....as for my writing I know I don't use a lot of grammer and I barely edit anything I write and for me it works I realize im taking l's and shit in the league and I should be more aggressive in that sense but for real what matters to me is showing and showing in and out every week while still producing some type of contribution to the league as a whole...so winning and losing isn't everything but I realize if I continue to not follow the topics and write something abstract per se then im going to have to get used to losing which is fine with me.........but I wish god or the people that control this site continue to give me a setting in which I can portray my narratives and shit like that even if they don't entirely get what im trying to do so thanks again to those who have given my writing a chance and are willing to continue giving me opportunities to drop

I thought your verses made sense, your last post in this thread just didnt haha.

The only problem with your verses is they seemed a little bit scattered and didn't have any real strong or original topic. That's something that really takes a lot of thought though, and because you enjoy writing quickly and getting it done, a lot of that extra stuff that makes a verse great is gonna escape.

A verse doesn't NEED good grammar and vocab. Some guys can write in "rap speak" and still have an amazing verse. It's just reaaaaally hard to make it good so most people don't do it.

in terms of lyrical elevation, the amount of valuable experience this place has to offer is like putting your ability into a time machine to the future compared to the pace you'd progress on your own. at this point you shouldn't give a single fuck about your win/loss and focus only on the critiques given to you and how you can use the advice in your future writing. learn that the most important part of a verse is the concept and angle and you should spend as much (or more) time thinking about that before you write then it takes you to write your verse because when you know what you want to say, saying it is easy. mechanics come with time but the hardest part about writing is deciding what to write about.

Nigma, defo. When I joined that ISTL league in here I went from verses about religion, politics and death to everything else. When you're writing all the time, you can't just write about the same shit all the time. You need to mix it up.

Ironically, the first ever story I told was my most original ever. I must have been about 6 or something. We had a creative writing class. I wrote a story about my toys abseiling out the window to go to some dilapidated house where all the toys had a meeting. I remember so vividly cause the teacher brought my parents in to find out how the hell I know what dilapidated and abseiling was at 6 years old haha

I tried last week something a little different and im glad people recognize that it was a start considering my writing in the past but what I tried to do this week was kind of have a set up and a conclusion at the end of every line then each line I was doing a set up which had to do with the topic and then the second line in a bar would be my way of adding a bit of knowledge and wisdom to the text.....I kind of felt like doing that because I have a hard time going from point a to point b in a storytelling kind of way and I don't have the ability to write shit like a rap at all times so this was my way of writing something that I could tackle and really try my best at throwing people off of the topic so that at some points it didn't make sense and there was a reasonable explanation for that...

its funny I often feel like peoples most fond memories are from when they are a child I can barely remember significant points in my adulthood whereas my memories as a toddler are so much more vivid... so that was cool to hear im not the only one who recalls their youth so fondly
