marriage is as much a construct as religion is.

thinking religion is merely divisive is sort of perpetuating that division.

you need to accept a person's right to believe in a skyfather as much their right to contravene nature (lol) and marry into their own sex. it's like misandrous neo-feminists.

accepting one furthers the cause of allowing others to express their love the way they see fit.
accepting religion furthers the cause of allowing others to dictate how people express their love for one another.
One is freeing, and the other is binding.

as i said i don't really care about the issue, i'm more or less neutral. views like yours are what bother me: the inverse ignorant; deluded by your own delusion. people voting for Obama on the sole basis he was black. let's wrap religion up in a neat little causal envelope like we've got it locked. we don't. people are the cause of shit -- no let's blame one of our constructs instead and avoid the actual issue.
