The deviations from the comic (combining the Night Nurse and Claire Temple, making Karen a decent person, having Foggy learn so early on about Matt's identity, killing Ben, humanizing Fisk) were actually pretty much fine with me because I've never been a huge fan of the Daredevil comics. I read them, but they weren't as important to me as, say, Hank Pym creating Ultron.

But I never got into the Karen-Ben plot to uncover Fisk because it never all that plausible to me. And it was frustrating how beaten down Matt was most of the time, even if he was OK in his fight scenes. I think a more episodic base for the future seasons would help because we almost never got a sense of Matt Murdock outside of the costume by midway through this season. I also wish Ben had been kept alive.

They did a great job with casting, though. And they took risks that worked. So I'm in for the long haul.
