That's a solid list.

Here's a question; if we assume Belichick and Carroll are 1-2 (Carroll seems iffy to me but his success can't be argued) then who makes up the rest of the top 5 NFL coaches? I went through it in my head and its surprising, the lack of truly standout coaches. The best I could do was Bruce Arians, John Harbaugh, and someone out of a Chip Kelly/Rex Ryan/Pettine/Sean Payton stew.

I think Payton has proven he's an incomplete coach without a defensive genius on the other side of the ball. TBH, I think he'll get Mike Smith'd next year if they have a similar performance.

Arians/Harbaugh/Tomlin/Pagano are all up there but Arians needs more time to prove himself in the face of adversity. The other 3 I listed have definitely done that.

I don't really know what to make of McCarthy. He doesn't seem to do very much but be the right guy in the right situation. Got a Lombardi, though.

John Fox is a paper tiger. He's only as good as his assistants.

Plenty of stalwarts who always land a job like Reid, Lewis, Lovie, etc.. they do just enough, I guess.
