if you have questions about your state of mind, I would say let a good friend borrow it until you feel stable. Or, have some one you live with keep it in a safe in which you do not have the combination and key.

A gun is a good thing to have for self defense. That is why they are legal.

If you think you may hurt yourself or some one else that might not deserve it... part ways with it until you come to peace and feel stable with your mind's logic being in control rather than your feelings.
