Its basically an investigative look into a 15 year old murder case in Baltimore. A Pakistani Muslim high schooler named Adnan is dumped by his girlfriend Hae, and then like a month later she disappears. A few days after that, they find her body buried in a shallow grave in a park. Without giving anything away, this chronicles the relationship, the day of her disappearance and the trial that followed in which her ex boyfriend Adnan Syed was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Hae Lee, based almost solely on the testimony of his friend/acquaintance Jay.
I started listening based on the recommendation on a friend yesterday while I was getting ready for work. I then continued listening through my lunch break. I played in in my car on the drive home from work. I listened to it while I made dinner, and fell asleep listening last night. It's really just sucked me in and I'm finishing up the last episode while I type this right now. Then I plan on heading over to thehundreds to watch the round table discussion: http://thehundreds.com/thehundreds-cereal/
