This also worries me, though I grew up in an environment where you had to have a thick skin, there was no excuse not to, if you didn't and you got hurt by words, you were looked upon as weak. Every time my family is together all we do is insult each other, because we're all thick skinned...so sometimes I think 'fuck him, it's only words' but then other times I think other people might not have been in an environment like that growing up and might be more susceptible to letting words get to them than I am, and that makes me feel bad and worried they might do something silly, because they don't know that words do not mean anything, what other people say has no effect on you as a person as long as you have a strong sense of your own identity, not everyone does though, so I guess it's kind of a fine line.

It's not so much that people are messing with people; it's the almost forced EVERYONE LOOK HOW COOL I AM BY BEING SO LACKADAISICAL style they go about it. 4chan is the best way I can describe it, atm. A little hazing is fun, but you've got to have some sort of humanity or it's not really fun, it's just being a dick.
