my vocal chords are just covered with tar from years of cigs and weed, trying to keep remotely in note with any song im singing along with just makes it almost collapse in on itself

i wish i could sing on some old soul man shit, or even bluesy type shit. its impossible.

I've known a few blues singers.

I used to 'skat' through my circuit bent megaphone into the mics set up for the harmonica, during open blues jams... but my vocals can't go nearly as high as they could, now that I smoke too much cigs.

On topic you can sing uh oh it's just a matter of breathing and breath support. You probably have neither at the moment but you could work up some

and not even super high, but likejust any change in pitch

i can feel my throat wiggle and like fold in on itself almost

like a teenager whose voice cracks, my vocal chords just cant support it haha.

thats like half practice and half breathing in a way that supports the pitch

if you're really interested in this you might want to look into abdominal breathing
