Im a welder

Stationed somewhere out in the gulf..pretty close to venice,la..but we move from location to location just about weekly

On board we have

Barge foreman
Company men(inspectors)
Tenders
Riggers
Two welders
Mechanics
Clerk
Reg divers..for shallow water
Sat divers(saturated in nitrogen who basically live in decompression chambefs)
N catering company

About 30 of us

Were r currently in about 200 ft of water

Sat divers make the real money..some can make upwards to half a mil a yr depending on where they get deployed(catch is no wrk dhring late fall/all winter)

This is my first time being offshore but the money im seeing is life-changing..especially because of the shifts n ot after 40 hrs a wk

Theres this sat diver im cool with who went to Australia n made 172k in 3 months..im like FUCK!

-sat divers have a lower life expectancy tho lol..dknt know the science behind it all..but water pressure obv
