The rules are bullshit and make no sense, but if someone is a mod...and there are rules...and the rules are broken....the mod has to stop the rules being broken.

Ryan is just doing what he has been asked to do as a mod, you should have got at an admin if you thought the rules should be changed, that's not really Ryan's issue.
