I was reading about this yesterday, glad someone posted it. Definitely an exciting find, and one of the more interesting corners of astrophysics (early universe theories). It's fascinating to me because on earth, things erode, decay, and altogether disappear due to atmospheric interferences, but in space there are still possibilities to discover direct remnants from the beginning of the universe. Even when they're as small as gravitational waves.

These small gravitational variances, by the way, are the reason why any life is able to exist. Without them, all matter would be uniformly distributed over the expanse of space, making it impossible for any matter to congregate close enough to a star to sustainably exist. In terms of pure science (not considering religious implications, that is), it's a really exciting discovery if it continues to check out, which all sources seem to suggest it will.
