this whole idea of who is qualified to vote on a topical battle and who isn't is total bullshit

you don't have to write topicals to know which one is better and which one you enjoy more just like I don't have to play football to know that Calvin Johnson is better than Santana Moss

and tbh your writing should be accessible to all readers, including people that don't write at all, punchline battle writers and us topical nerds

if you can read you are a qualified voter imo

Agreed. That doesn't mean all votes are equal, but all voters of all experience levels should be considered when writing.

wrong. mine was added almost immediately after that battle. i keep a log of my losses:

Do opponent no-shows count as wins? I was always a little on the fence about that. I think they should def count as losses if you no show, but idk if you can really say you beat someone who didn't show up.

They do count as wins. Particularly from a league perspective, they have to.
