That do happen a lot. Usually at least one glass breaks at some point. Plastic cups are being used here (Norway) here as well tho, but they're usually white or transparent. Rarely colored.

Also about whoever said (paraphrasing); ''Americans don't give a fuck about foreigners, why should we have a *insert country* party?'' Because it's cool? Eat different types of food/snacks etc? A different kind of party beside of the usual shit.
