The tall guy, Manute Bol, was terrible except for his height. The short guy, Muggsy Bogues, was a really good dribbler for the same reason short soccer players are: He was low to the ground, so he had great balance and could turn on a dime.

Basketball and soccer (Association football, whatever) are not that different in terms of skill sets, except that basketball players tend to be much taller. Bogues was the exception at 5-3.
