it's the digital age, where location doesn't matter as much and relocation isn't as necessary to explore options... tenure has definitely been droppin in correspondence with barriers to entry.

specialization in an evolving fields is a primary contributor; figure out how to figure shit out, and you can surf this down economy wave...

i mean shit, in the 'digital' space turnover is ridiculous -- hitting the 2 year mark is like the 20 year mark of the late 80s early 90s.

I work at a resedential treatment facilty that deals with youth whom have mental health diagnosis ... Some of which are court ordered clients others are referred by doctors or other facilties that failed to help them of couldn't accommodate their needs etc etc

i also think it's one of those somewhat rare areas where people stay there for so long because they value what they do -- which is one of the best things a career can provide

while i do consider myself blessed and fortunate for my position in a lot of ways --- with my particular worldview, making money to consult businesses on how to make money in a financial system built on glorified IOUs and in a commerce dependent on continual growth which is dependent on consumer confidence --- i close down my day thinking that at best I was effective at contributing to a system that is fucking the damn world and souls in it up lol.

so hey, MAJOR PROPS for real brother. You're in a position to impact lives in a real way.

i've been at my current job for 4 years.

longest ever. then again, i was kiting 1 yr jobs to continuously double by salary for awhile.

also i can live wherever i want, work from home full time, and only have to travel 1-2x a year.

so i mean yeah. unlikely for me to go anywhere for less than 1/4 mil.. salary.

damn straight man --- it took me about 6 months to get into a rhythm, but once you figure out how to deliver work-from-home style, it's hard to entertain a brick and mortar ever again.

i just past up a VP of digital position because i like the option of working in muh PJs yo lol
