Is there any way to evolve those special pokemon without trading them? I remember you could only get an alakazam if you traded pokemon with a mate...

with the right moves and level, yes. BUT, you'll most likely be usings HMs to do it... am I wrong?

like 9 of them only evolve with trade. thats just how the set it up. you can do the missingno cheat to get most of those pokemon tho. at less than lvl 15 at that.
