There's also the fact that, I'm going to use SLENDER MAN as an example, that when people have a certain mind set to expect something they can actually end up precipitating an imaginary thing that may not have existed before. Before the game Slenderman came out no one seen sightings of him, once people played the game their will of expecting or at least having that person/object in mind can actually seem to come in to existence. I don't know what the term is called for this but it's a real concept.

Same can be said for people who use a Quija board, having a mind set that maybe there is a slight chance its real can make you believe what you are experiencing is actually happening when really it's just your mind playing tricks.

At bags, M Theory might be able to explain the multi verse theory in the future but it's a different concept. The math and science actually exist for M Theory and it's supposed tie quantum and relativity together which currently isn't possible right now ( this actually ties in the the movie INTERSTELLAR if you ever seen that we need to understand how a singularity works they can't combine relativity and quantum together just yet but it's in the works.)

At Amen, i have to look up what the term is but it's something close to what you said and it's a real thing that happens.
