Someone explain weed to me

I guess for starters..


when people talk about strains, they're basically talking about different families of weed

You have cannabis. which is all types

Then indica and sativa

Indica strains give you one type of high. Sativa strains give you another different type of high.

You can have blends that basically come from two different strains mixed together... most of the ones with the funky ass names come from like, parent strains that have been around forever....

..like Cheese or blue dream. those together give you blue cheese. Etc etc etc

In terms of smoking, there are


Joints- weed ground up and rolled into rolling papers, made of hemp, rice, or other plant base materials

Blunts- weed ground up and put into a cigarillo that's been cut or 'gutted' (all tobacco removed) and then sealed shut

Bowls- just a piece of glass that holds weed so you can smoke it, pretty much

Bubbler- same thing except the smoke is filtered through a water reservoir to filter toxins

Bong- super sized version of a bubbler... you pull a slide to stop taking a hit

Vaporizer- basically you heat the weed up enough so the THC vaporizes but doesnt burn
