Firstly, people like Dynamix, Timevirus and Lieutenant changed the way you read text. I would say they introduced manipulation to the masses by executing it so well that people wanted to imitate and it became popular. Before then it was the long bar paragraph structure that was wordplay reliant and not so much about punches as we know them now. Text peaked again in 2004/5 with a lot of older heads coming back and battling again, even some of Hens verses were around that time. People can still innovate. I don't think that's the problem. The challenge is surpassing what's already been done in the most creative way and a lot of heads, including myself, cannot be bothered most of the time. |
