Was asking bout him not to long ago for real.

He was ok.

But u guys over romanticize every generation prior.

Because every generation prior has been better, for real.

A lot of lines and concepts are played now but back then you had to innovate and be creative.

Shit is the same as hiphop.....every generation has literally been weaker because the newer generations have built off the base set prior and evolved. Everything that couldve been said was already said by 02 so to say any1 after that generation was an innovator is a joke. Ive read the heroes of text past with an open mind and was bored. After a while people keep saying something is dope and people start to believe it.....like beyonds verses. The only people i ever read and was literally blown away was butler, rudge1 & hensley. The rest were as good as any other top tier vet from any given era.

Firstly, people like Dynamix, Timevirus and Lieutenant changed the way you read text. I would say they introduced manipulation to the masses by executing it so well that people wanted to imitate and it became popular. Before then it was the long bar paragraph structure that was wordplay reliant and not so much about punches as we know them now. Text peaked again in 2004/5 with a lot of older heads coming back and battling again, even some of Hens verses were around that time. People can still innovate. I don't think that's the problem. The challenge is surpassing what's already been done in the most creative way and a lot of heads, including myself, cannot be bothered most of the time.
